1. The Majesty of God
Look up to the sky above you. See how tall the trees are, towering up. Waving in the breeze. We give thanks to God for His creation. For these magnificent trees grown from tiny saplings. |
Proverbs 30 v4 Who but God goes up to heaven and comes back down? Who has gathered the wind in the hollow of his hand? Who wraps up the oceans in his cloak? Who has created the whole wide world? We see the majesty of the Lord |
2. God Provides
Listen! Can you hear the birds? The nests are covered with leaves but the birds fly to and from with ease. God provides food and shelter for them. We thank God for providing what we need. |
Matthew 6:26-27 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? |
3. We will remember them
“We will remember them” As we stop and reflect on the lives lost during WW2 we give thanks for their sacrifice and pray that the peace they fought for will be protected and upheld. |
John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. |
4. God’s Sacrifice
We sit beside the empty tomb of the Easter garden and at the same time we look out at the fields, the gift of creation. Take a stone and as you put it in the water leave your worries with God. |
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. |
5. Call to prayer
Turn and look up at the tower of the church, imagine from the top the view. From here, over the centuries, the calling of the bells has brought people to worship and pray in this church. Think for a moment of how many prayers have been said from here. Now pray exactly what is on your mind, give thanks for the good things and ask for help for the difficult things in your life. |
Psalm 121 I lift up my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. |
6. Choosing God’s path
There is a choice of pathway here; consider how the journey of faith is often described as choosing the narrow path, rather than the world’s wider road. Ask God to help you choose his path always, even at the difficult times. |
Matthew 7 13 -14 Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. |
7. Life After Death
Ponder over the graves of the faithful departed resting in amongst the trees and wild flowers. We pray for all who mourn at this time and ask God to comfort them. We thank God that he has overcome death so we can look forward to the promise of eternal life. |
John 14:1-3 Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. |
8. Remembering our Allies
Here we remember the many American airmen who flew out of Chelveston during WW2. A time where allies joined together for one common purpose of bringing freedom and peace to our land. “For our tomorrow, |

9. The Risen Christ
A Short Prayer for Peace Lord, I come before you ready to pour out my worries, anxieties, and fears at Your feet. I am claiming and declaring Your promises for blessings of peace and strength over my life. Bring peace into my soul that passes all worldly understanding and make me a light for others to see Your strength. Amen |
