St John's Knit and Natter Group

Did you know St. Johnís Church has a very successful knit and natter group? Brenda and Sara are always pleased to welcome new members. Unfortunately we have not been able to meet for the last month because of covid-19. However that has not stopped the ladies from knitting for different charities.

We knit baby jumpers, hats and blankets for African and Syrian babies, trauma teddies for children and baby clothes for Baby Basics in Northampton.

Also, during this period of lockdown we are crocheting or knitting rainbows in support of the NHS and hearts for the hospital. Over time we hope to add a variety of things that we can use at the end of this difficult time to decorate the church and village. We will keep you posted.

If you would like to join us in knitting for charities in the comfort of your own arm chair, please email for the baby jumper and hat pattern. Or simply knit or crochet a 1m x 1m square blanket. This can be done by knitting lots of little squares and stitching them together. Perfect simple projects for novice knitters. Any bright double knitting wool is perfect for these little jumpers and hats. There is a small supply of wool that we can share. Size 8 knitting needles are also needed. We do have a few sets of these also.
